Safety comes first at Grape Creek ISD
The daily operations at both Grape Creek Elementary and Middle School will be impacted somewhat during the next year by the construction just underway on the Middle School Expansion Project. The exterior double doors, just outside the cafeteria area, and the double doors at the north end of the Kindergarten/1st Grade wing will be sealed off for the duration of the construction period for the sake of safety.
Parents and community members will notice a new fence and exterior entrance arrangement just outside the elementary office off Mustang Road.

| The PPCD students through 3rd grade
students will be picked up and dropped off at the same location. The 4th
and 5th grade students will enter through the elementary office wing
entrance in the mornings and travel through the gymnasium to the cafeteria where
they will wait for their bell to ring.
The playground is being fenced off in areas of construction to protect the students. The middle school will conduct a second fire drill in the near future to reroute students who would normally use the blocked exits. This is to insure students and staff members are fully aware of emergency exits they are to use in an event that requires immediate evacuation. |
| While these changes may be a bit inconvenient
at the moment, the improvements that are being made will make the
educational environment at Grape Creek Middle School more favorable.
The district appreciates the patience of parents, community members, staff
members and students during this time of transition.
