Featured Band~~CONCHO GRASS~~San Angelo, Texas

 Concho Grass was organized in the late 1970s by Nelson McGee.  He plays guitar and sings lead and harmony for the band.  Nelson is well-known among bluegrass fans and a recognized leader of bluegrass activities in Texas.  He is retired from the Air Force and an automotive electrical shop.
            Randy Blackwood started playing with Concho Grass as a teenager, and then played with other groups for several years. About four years ago, he rejoined Concho Grass where he continues to play banjo and guitar and sing lead and harmony.  He drives for Fed-Ex. He and his wife, Lupe, are parents to four children and three grandchildren.
 Ron Gore is a retired postman from Big Lake.  He plays the mandolin and sings lead and harmony for the group.
         Ricky Rogers lives in Grape Creek and plays the Dobro for the group.  He didn’t start playing till he was 45.  Ricky sings lead and bass for the group.  He has been playing with the group for about a year.
          Thomas Blackwood was born in 1993 to Randy and Lupe Blackwood.  He is the youngest of 4 children and is a freshman at Central High School.  He plays guitar, bass, piano and saxophone.  His hobbies include running, playing baseball and reading.  He’d like to be a chef some day.

Featured Band~~ GLEN BONHAM & SOUTHERN TRADITION~~Oklahoma

Glen "White Cloud" Bonham is a Native American member of the Choctaw Tribe from the talent-laden state of Oklahoma. Glen grew up in a family of Bluegrass musicians and began performing professionally in 1971, with talents such as Bill Grant, Delia Bell and the Kiamichi Mountain Boys. His musical talents include guitar, bass and mandolin with a strong lead and tenor voice. He is also an accomplished traditional Native American Dancer. Glen strives to create no boundaries for his fluent music writing and performance, drawing from the influences of Bluegrass, Rock & Roll, Rhythm and Blues and his own Native American heritage. Glen has performed at major Bluegrass Festivals for over 20 years and is an inspired songwriter with more than 100 songs to his credit.

Garland Blocker
            Garland Blocker resides in Seminole, OK with his wife Jennifer. Garland is a talented banjo virtuoso who has been playing his instrument for the past thirteen years. Garland has been the member of many of Oklahoma’s great regional bluegrass bands including IIIrd Generation and Boggy River. In Southern Tradition, Garland sings lead, baritone, and tenor. Garland is also an accomplished guitar, mandolin, and bass player. Garland also adds a superb talent of songwriting to his musical abilities.
            Whenever Garland is not performing music, he is employed as a bricklayer in the Oklahoma City area. Garland is a Pottawatomie Indian and recently, Garland and Glen Bonham have discovered that they are third cousins. This discovery has added a family element to Southern Tradition.
Melvin Stephens
            Melvin Stephens lives in Atoka, OK where he and his brother take care of their father and grandmother. Melvin has been playing the mandolin for nine years and he capitalizes on the old traditional style of mandolin playing. Melvin also plays the bass and some guitar. Melvin is also an accomplished brass instrument player and has participated in several state honor bands throughout high school. Melvin has played with several bands throughout his short career including Ed and Jolene and The Stephens Boys.
            Currently, Melvin is a senior at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and is only a few hours short of obtaining a B.A. in English. He is also an accomplished rancher and works as a carpenter when the music or ranch work allows time.
Billy Stephens
            Billy Stephens lives in Atoka, OK where he and his brother take care of their father and grandmother. Billy has been playing the bass for four years. Billy also plays the Autoharp. Billy is also an accomplished brass instrument player and has participated in several state honor bands throughout high school. Billy has played with several bands throughout his short career including Ed and Jolene and The Stephens Boys.  Currently, Billy is a junior at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and is pursuing a B.A. in English. Billy is also an accomplished rancher.
