Mr. John’s Classroom Rules, Procedures, and Consequences

Rules – My Expectations, Your Responsibilities:

1.    Be on time, every time. This means being in your seat when the bell rings.

2.    Come prepared to work and learn. This means being ready with your materials and your mind.

3.    Treat others and their property with respect, dignity, and consideration. Use the “Golden Rule”.

4.    Personal grooming is for some place other than this classroom.

5.     Inappropriate and unacceptable dress will not be tolerated.

6.     Conduct yourself in a mature and responsible fashion.

Important Procedures- Steps to make our time together more productive:

1.    When you arrive in this classroom, please take your assigned seat quietly and look at the board. There you will find a pre-class assignment: START TO WORK ON THIS ASSIGNMENT IMMEDIATELY.

2.    Please make sure you are sitting in your assigned seat; your seat should always stay in its assigned location unless I ask you to move it.

3.    Your job is to learn and help others learn; please work quietly and respectfully.

4.     When you are asked to pass in papers please do so by passing them to your left. Someone will pick them up at the end of each row.

5.    Please discard food and drinks before entering the classroom.

6.    Sometimes, we will be working in the lab; SAFETY IS TO BE OBSERVED AT ALL TIMES. If you are not sure, ASK. You will also receive more info on lab safety in the near future.

7.    The bell is not your signal to leave. I will dismiss class.

8.    Before you leave, pick up and clean up after yourself. Leave your area neat.

9.    When I raise my hand, you are to focus your attention on me immediately.

10.           Questions are not only welcome, they are expected. I will be asking you questions as well.

11.           Procedures may be modified or amended as needed. Your choices will largely determine this.
